In the digital age, cybersecurity is not just an IT issue—it is the backbone of national security, economic stability, and public trust.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure (CSI) Research Hub at Strathmore University is a multidisciplinary center dedicated to advancing research, training, and innovation in cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection. Established as part of the School of Computing and Engineering Sciences, the hub serves as a convergence point for academia, industry, and government in addressing the evolving landscape of cyber threats and digital resilience.
The modern world is increasingly dependent on interconnected systems such as energy grids, transportation networks, healthcare systems, financial institutions, and telecommunication infrastructure. While these systems bring immense benefits, they also present a high-value target for cybercriminals, hacktivists, and nation-state actors. The CSI Research Hub was founded to bridge the knowledge gap between emerging threats and effective defense strategies, fostering a secure and trustworthy digital ecosystem in Kenya, Africa, and beyond.
The hub is managed by a multidisciplinary team of researchers, cybersecurity practitioners, and engineers, with expertise spanning network security, cryptography, AI for cybersecurity, and infrastructure resilience.
