
Lecturer, Academic Director
Dr. Henry Muchiri holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology. He is a lecturer and the current Academic Director at the Strathmore University School of Computing & Engineering Sciences (SCES). His research interests include applied artificial intelligence, machine learning, visual-based gait analysis, and software engineering. Dr. Muchiri has contributed to several notable research projects, such as Curbing Illegal Logging Patterns Using Sound-Based Detection Techniques (2024), Strengthening Research and Innovation Capabilities in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Kenya in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (2021), the Microsoft Wise4Africa Project (2019), and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) – Drug Access Project (2015). He is also an active reviewer for various journals and grant calls and has presented conference papers and published articles in highly regarded national and international journals on artificial intelligence and software engineering.
In addition to his academic and research contributions, Dr. Muchiri is dedicated to mentoring young men. As a member of the Strathmore University mentoring program since 2012, he has mentored over 30 young men, helping them navigate both personal and professional growth.

Dr Muchiri holds a PhD in Information Systems from Strathmore university, Master of Science in information technology (MSIT) from Strathmore university and a Bachelor of science in Business Information Technology (BBIT) from Strathmore university.
