Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
The programme is designed for system maintenance and support staff, computer science/IT graduate students, Networking aspirants and high school graduates. Full CCNA course takes 4 months to complete.
Requirements:
You are required to have done IT Essentials and basic MS Office applications
Duration and timings are according to Cisco guidelines.
The following is a brief CCNA course outline of the modules:
CCNA 1
The course will help you:
- Understand physical (MAC) and logical (IP) addressing and network routing techniques
- Be familiar with some TCP/IP protocols
- Be familiar with a range of upper layer issues and their relationship with the other layers
- Be aware of a range of Physical/Data Link/Network Layer problems
- Appreciate the troubleshooting process and be able to do simple fault finding
- Be able to establish a small LAN as part of a campus network…. And much more.

CCNA 2
On successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Be aware of LANs and WANs: devices and technologies
- Interact with Cisco Router User Interface, understanding components and a range of comments and configurations
- Comprehend the technicalities of the TCP/IP Protocol Suite
- Understand the significance of IP addressing on routed networks
- Know about routing basics, including IP… and much more.
- Addressing on routed networks and subnetworks, applied to a range of LANs
- Be familiar with the principles of network management… and much more.
Duration: 3 weeks
CCNA 3
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how to solve typical LAN performance issues and be able to choose technologies that enhance LAN scalability and security
- Understand how LAN switching technologies are implemented and the relationships between the switched LANs and VLANs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in designing and implementing LAN networks and interconnecting these using routers configured with dynamic routing protocols
- Extend an understanding of network protocols to include IPX and demonstrate proficiency of using IPX in situations where IP may also be used… and much more.
Duration: 3 weeks
CCNA 4
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how to solve typical LAN performance issues and be able to choose technologies that enhance LAN scalability and security
- Understand how LAN switching technologies are implemented and the relationship between switched LANs and VLANs
- Proficiency in designing and implementing LAN networks and interconnecting them
- Demonstrate the correct applications of router security features including access lists, solve common security and management issues
- Extend an understanding of network protocols to include IPX and demonstrate proficiency of using IPX in situations where IP may also be used
- Understand the role and capabilities of WAN technologies and be able to design WAN networks that satisfy common operational constraints
Duration: 3 weeks
On successful completion of the IT Essentials and CAN 1-4, you will be eligible to join CCNA Security.
CCNA Security
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the security threats facing modern network infrastructures
- Secure Cisco routers
- Mitigate threats to Cisco routers and networks using ACLS
- Mitigate common layer 2 attacks
- Implement site to site IPsec VPNs
- Implement the Cisco IOS firewall feature set
The duration for CCNA Security is 1 month. The pre-requisite is that you must have completed CCNA 1 - 4.
